oh yeah.. they used memorial tower at LSU I think..
I think LSU vetoed that idea out of the fear that it would give some wacko some bad ideas. I think that they ended up using the State Capitol instead...

I guess it depends on your definition of "movie". For example, some LSU students have filmed stuff with cam-corders and called them "movies"....also few movies are shot ENTIRELY in one city; most all movies are filmed at least in part in other cities or states, or even countries. Some major releases that include Baton Rouge are "The Toy" (Richard Pryor, Jackie Gleason), the recent award-winning Ray Charles movie with Jamie Foxx (I think most was filmed in other parts of Louisiana though), "All the King's Men" with Sean Penn just wrapped up shooting here, etc...
