I joined the Genbukan Ninpo Bugeiback in 1999 as Louisiana's only representative student. In 2001, I dropped my membership and rank because there was no one to train with and I was not able to afford the travel cost for training at my Sensei's dojo in Texas.

I rejoined this year and re-tested for my last rank which was 7th Kyu*. I brought three others along with me. We are a training group attached to the Genbukan Ganseki Dojo of Houston, Texas. My sensei is John Lindsey. He is Dai Dojo Cho (or Dojo Chief) over all of the Genbukan Dojo in Texas, Missouri and Louisiana. My group is the ONLY Genbukan group in this state.

The Club:

There is a monthly club fee of $35. To join the Genbukan as a member (and be able to test for rank), which is recommended, there is an annual fee of $40. We meet once a week, normally on Sundays for about 3 hours. We train at the LSU Lakes here in BR.

*Although I am technically a green belt in Ninpo, I have been training informally since the early 90s. I also hold a high black belt grade in Ryuhendo Goshinjutsu (what I used to teach).
