Satisfied with my GP - time to find a OB/GYN - any head's up on the who's who in the MD world? Who to see; who to avoid?... My insurance is changing (damn state arbitrated rates ). I think I have Humana now.
Any personal recommendations would be hugely appreciated (as well as reasons, explanations, stories). Heard negative things about Stanicola & Oschner... any validity to that, anyone knows of?
By the by... I would prefer a female OB - funny that way, women understanding women and all (lol)... someone familiar and open to latest techniques & options!
I'm not in imminent need... I want to shop before I have a deadline!
Regards,
Cat Denny

I can't believe no one has any opinions on this!!!
... I recently heard that Dr Sharon Yoder-Hedges would be a good OB to look into. Anyone familiar with her?
Anyone I should avoid without further consideration? Yes...? No...?
I also heard a positive plug for Dr Michael Perniciaro - but I'm really more interested in a lady Dr (no offense)... it's hard enough just to get the exams...
As an aside - I think a discussion should be had on businesses (or people) deserving kudos (or a heavy bash)... I may post something like that if I get any replies to this... for example, I hate Bank One! & this past Christmas a wonderful S.A. emp or volunteer (I'm not sure) loaded my grandmother & all our packages into the car when I pulled up... he wouldn't accept the tip I gave him - instead, he put it in the collection bucket!

Unfortunately, I don't have a Vagina...
So I can't make any suggestions as to whom to refer people for "Vagina maintenance".

Yeah, as the number of female members on BatonRougeChat.com continue to increase, there will be more opinions on this matter.

You Guys are funny! Thought you were supposed to be the "problem-solver" gender (lol)
Don't you have wives, girlfriends, mothers, sisters... ??
Don't you want to build the visibility of this site?
This could become the hottest spot for what's hot & what's not - in every category: doctors, banking, gas & service stations, restaurants, clubs, investing... he he heee - and it all started here with you guys!
Yours in fun, Cat

We do, but this is the one topic that we don't discuss with them...

I think that this site will evolve as you envision it with a little time...

When my wife got pregnant we found a GREAT ob/gyn. Actually she was the first available, but being a really good doctor was nice, too.
If you don't mind driving to Metairie (only about an hour away), I can give you a name and number.

Thanks Ben - Metairie is a bit further than I was hoping for, but I really appreciate the offer!
Dude, No Doc yet... Like I said, I'm in no imminent need. I go to my GP tomorrow for a pre-surg physical... I'll see what she says.
Would you like me to post my findings? (lol)
Thanks again guys! Cat

We see Katherine Pearce, M.D. at the OLOL Physician's Plaza. She is thorough enough. My wife's OB/GYN is Charles Lawler... Very good doc.

Been out of the loop here for a while - I think last I wrote on this topic I was looking and in no hurry...
Since then, I've found a wonderful OBGYN & ha ha haaa he's not the she I thought I wanted!! However, that said - I wouldn't trade him... I think if he moved to "wherever" I'd be commuting to stay with his practice! Dr Perniciaro with Women Healthcare Associates @ Woman's Phys Plaza is wonderful!
Also, I was in more immediate need by the time I found him - I got pregnant while vacationing for my 5th anniversary - I'll be a Mommy mid-late May.
Thanks for the advice & more importantly - the forum in which to ask!!
Stay well, Cat

New Mommy here - please forgive any typos... I'm running on lack of consecutive hours of down time! Being a SAHM is tough enough on me & my DH... I don't understand 2 working parents (it is a choice, not a necessity), and single parents (for whatever their reasons to not have partners) must really have it rough.
Had baby Thomas May 30, 2006 - 8:30pm CST - after 14 hours (give-or-take, but who's counting) of natural labor, had an emergency section... baby decided to withdraw & then his heart rate dropped, so we sent in the big guns to get him out of there!
He is great! Just thought I'd share... in case anyone was wondering...
Cat
