Over the next few months, a massive tidal wave of bowlers will crash upon our fair city. Between now and July 4, over 100,000 people from all over the country will come to the Baton Rouge River Center to compete in a tournament. My first reaction to this is probably the same as yours: “Are there really more than 100,000 bowlers in this country?”

Indeed, there are and they come from all over to the renovated River Center to compete in “The BTM [Bowling This Month] Tournament.” The prize is $10,000 for first place Open Singles, $5,000 for Senior Singles, and $8,000 for Open Doubles. There are a total of nine events for different handicaps and varying prizes to match.
