By Damian FoleyFor years, Pat Summitt’s Tennessee Lady Volunteers have been the gold standard in women’s basketball, treating conference and national opponents as if they were rent-a-win exhibition foes.
LSU, often left looking up at the powerhouse Lady Vols, finally fought back on February 10, backing up their lofty No. 1 national ranking with a 68-58 win over the orange army in the friendly confines of the PMAC.
But, as the saying goes, fool me once – shame on you; fool me twice – shame on me, and Summit’s Tennessee team wasn’t going to overlook LSU a second time in 2005.
